Pen's Spider

This is a different picture, so the description doesn't match it.

Its two beady eyes - one blue, one black - were trained on Pen, as he slowly tried to inch away. Pen could see the tendons in its muscles contracting, as if it were excited by smell of fear in the air. All eight legs were zebra stripped on the bottom, with a russet tinge on the top.
Pen's face blanched as it bared its fangs out, red venom pooling on the sandy ground. There was no way Pen could outrun the beast. It stood at least six feet in height and was about twelve feet across. No, there was no escaping from it.
But what the giant spider did next, wasn't exactly what Pen was thinking. It closed the short gap that separated them and gently nudged Pen's chest, almost humming a hello.
